About Us

What do we do?
Eastlea Residents Group is an independent voluntary organisation set up by the residents living in & around Eastlea & Newlands & we represent the concerns of residents to decision-makers!

How do we do it?
We respond on behalf of residents: -
For example, we are a involved in the continual ZESA & road problems.
We try our best to raise issues directly with the ‘Descion Makers’ in the respective councils & our priority work areas are:
• ZESA
• Road Maintenance
• Noise from Churches

How do you get involved?
The success of the group is dependent on volunteers.
If you live in our area we would like to hear from you and keep you up to date with developments.
You can…
• Sign up to our newsletter. (Click Here)
• Raise issues that are of concern to you.
• Volunteer to support the group in other ways...
i.e fundraising, writing our newsletter, supporting
   specific campaigns.

Newsletter #1

Good Day,

As you all aware we have recently distributed ‘flyers’ re-our ZESA predicament!

In the next few days you will receiving an email from ‘Yahoo Groups’ to say you have been added to the “eastlearesidents” email database!

We have created this database on Yahoo as it is an easy to use system & most importantly allows YOU management of it.

We will use this email database to inform you of progress, issues, challenges & any other information that is in the betterment of our area.

We have also setup a ‘blog’ on the web at http://eastlearesidents.blogspot.com where we will post all aforementioned as well.

The latest on the Boundary/Lanquedoc Transformer is ‘no news’ – The service agent who will repair the ‘trani’ requires a deposit prior to commencing work so until we can collect enough cash from residents no work will commence. Then on completion full payment is required so again unless ‘all residents come to the party’ we going to struggle to honour our commitment to him L

We have been given another name at ZESA, so today we are contacting him, not that any news will change but hopefully we will get same story so at least we know on the right track!

A BIG THANK YOU to those folk who have already dropped off money at 32 Midlothian Ave.

PLEASE if anyone has or knows folk within ZESA we can ‘hassle’ please forward so we can approach them as well.

Other areas we would like to tackle are: -

·         Water

·         Noise from River of Life Church

·         Potholes

Although ZESA is top of list if you have any input into these areas please let us know so we can start formulating action plans!

Regards

Eastlea Residents Group
