About Us

What do we do?
Eastlea Residents Group is an independent voluntary organisation set up by the residents living in & around Eastlea & Newlands & we represent the concerns of residents to decision-makers!

How do we do it?
We respond on behalf of residents: -
For example, we are a involved in the continual ZESA & road problems.
We try our best to raise issues directly with the ‘Descion Makers’ in the respective councils & our priority work areas are:
• ZESA
• Road Maintenance
• Noise from Churches

How do you get involved?
The success of the group is dependent on volunteers.
If you live in our area we would like to hear from you and keep you up to date with developments.
You can…
• Sign up to our newsletter. (Click Here)
• Raise issues that are of concern to you.
• Volunteer to support the group in other ways...
i.e fundraising, writing our newsletter, supporting
   specific campaigns.

ZESA Transformer (Boundary Road)

The transformer on the corner of Boundary & Lanqudoc is faulty and such disrupting power supplies to most Residents on: -

MIDLOTHIAN AVE - CAITHNESS ROAD - BOUNDARY ROAD - PEEBLES ROAD - RENFREW ROAD - CECIL RHODES DRIVE

In the interim we are hoping to be kindly being loaned one while ours is repaired - But like any repair it will require payment…

The cost of that is +/- $9500.00!!!

In a very rough estimate of approx 50 houses we would need to raise about $200.00 per house...

The company that is going to repair the transformer also requires a deposit before work starts so can we appeal to ALL affected residents to please get your monies to us ASAP!
